Fly Fishing in the Schwarza

The Schwarza is an attractive river with good distance segments for fly fishing men in Thuringia&Germany.
This medium mountain river and high-class Salmon water was chosen by the DAV (German Angler Association) in 2006 to the river scenery of the year.
The widely natural Schwarza is not so easily to fish and only skilled anglers with the fly or spinner come to any success.

Fish kinds in the Schwarza are rainbow trouts, graylings, brook trouts, brook chars, pikes, carps and tenches.
Fly fishing in the Schwarza signifies an unusual regulation for some fishing friend.
Thus only the fly fishing is allowed in odd calender dates. During straight days the spinn fishing and fly fishing is released.
Because many distance segments of the Schwarza have strongly overgrown with bushes and plants,only rolling throws are to be applied.
In the deep places the heavy fishing, with a weighty golden head nymph is worthwhile in the hook size 6 – 8 on which then brook trouts, graylings and the brook chars are to be caught.
The fly fishing in the Schwarza in winter is worthwhile especially to graylings in the segment between black castle and Swiss house. In summer against it the segment is worthwhile below black castle on brook trouts because these live then primarily on the one day flies rising.
Then the dry fishing with the light rod is announced. Should the fly fishing be impossible once in the Schwarza by persistent during dryness or high water by strong thunderstorm showers, the angler can fish on the Hohenwarthe dam in half an hour drive remotely.
